Sone Ka Anda/Musings (Woman)

-By Kalpana-

Woman

I am a woman.

A female. Basking in my Femininity. A feminine. Not a feminist.

I do not want to be a man. I do not want to be you. Your bonafide features are safe with you.

I wouldn’t want to trade mine. For that’s not what we envy. We envy you your freedom that has been so (un)rightfully claimed. We resent the bondage put in place by ‘righteous’ you; your  freedom of movement, your freedom of choice, your freedom to superiority, your claim to be more intelligent, your claim to being the head, your dictatorship. Your attitude of Lord. Your egocentric belief ‘A man knows it all’.

Yet, let me take this opportunity to thank you too. Your curbs, restrictions leave us craving for more. We evolved. We know, we understand we cope better with feminism. We reigned better because we weren’t macho. So, We strive harder to retain our feminism. Within our feminism and with our feminism we protested and fought to seek freedom from oppression. Our feminism might seem feminist. But, we are crusading for a gender equality of rights. Not superiority.
